Walking the emmaus road
Over the years I’ve learned many lessons walking the Emmaus Road. Many times my “…eyes were opened,” and I was given sight, an epiphany, spiritual insight that helped to propel me down the road. Many times, as the truth of Scripture marinated in my head, like those Emmaus bound disciples who asked each other, “…were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us,” I’ve experienced what I’ve come to call, “holy heartburn,” as the transforming truth of Scripture moved from my head to my heart, from my heart to my hands and feet.
My hope and prayer is that, like Jesus who “…came up and walked along with them,” these blog posts might become a traveling companion, of sorts, as you continue to walk your own Emmaus Road. I pray they might become a tool in the Holy Spirit’s toolbox to bring you greater “…wisdom and understanding, counsel and might, knowledge and fear of the Lord – and delight in his presence…” None of us was expected to walk this road alone. Thanks for reading.
I’ll see you, down the road!
